Our kids don't go back until the 17th. But I agree with Erin - I grew up going to school basically from the day after Labor Day until Memorial Day +/- a week, and I think kids need a good long summer. If for no other reason than to get good and bored and ready to learn again! :o)
well we finish up around the first week of may, so we've had some time. i just feel sad when it ends. and i grew up on the same schedule as you- school systems have drastically altered their schedules in this area in the last 20 years.
All is in the perspective of the individual. I am looking forward to summer ending. Mine has been far too busy and I hope at least September will bring a bit of a slow down.
Plus, our summer has been hot and dray behind the normal. I am ready for some refreshingly cool days, no weeks.
Since my children are all older I am ready for school to start so they can finish school.....forever. :-)
Your back at school now? How's it going? We start back in two weeks (well I guess just over one and a half now!). I've decided the kids have had enough time off as they ended the beginning of June.
I'm kind of in a funk about it too though! 36 more weeks ahead of fun, fun, fun! I'm going to try out the homeschool group here, it's overtly Christian so I'll see how it goes ;-)
Married 26 years to Keith. We're parents to a fantastic 12 year old whom I homeschool. We live in the country about 25 miles south of Montgomery, Alabama. We have a horse named Wrangler and a dog named Mickey.
Keith and I currently lead worship music at our church.
