one of those things

Did you ever have to do something that you knew would make a bunch of people mad while the rest of the people would be indifferent (at best) about it? But you didn't have a choice about the matter and still had to it no matter what your reservations? And even at the last minute you couldn't decide exactly how to go about it because no matter what you know you'll feel like you failed?

I've got one of those things.

BTW, I'm sorry I've been so AWOL. I guess I don't feel that I've had much to say lately. The tide will surely turn, eventually.

Join the club. Work and personal life has me hammered.

Hang in there, write about it when you can.

Well, you may not have had much to write about but I have not been reading either. :-)

I understand how you might feel you failed but I wonder whether it is the others who failed? Or, could it be no one has failed, it is just life?

thanks, Jim. It's a church thing. That probably tells you enough for a good idea of the tenor of the thing.

traveller, you're a real encourager- thank you. could be that it's just life. just one unpleasant part, and i'll be glad when it's over!

Cindy ~

I feel like I live there, but what is more important than being true to who God made you and how he is working in you?

Maybe, it is in these moments that we find out who we are and what we should be doing.

Whatever it is; it is not failure!

Grace & Peace

Glenn- thanks! I'm not sure how God is working in me, so I don't know 'xactly how to be true to it! At this point I'm just holding my breath til it's over :-) Perhaps I'll have insight afterwards.

if anybody's still following this post, we did the thing this morning and it was okay. not great not awful. ironically some things went wrong beyond our control that changed what we were focusing on and eliminated my ability to even notice whether people were pleased or infuriated...

interesting coincidence, huh.

Brings back memories. I can understand the stress and tension of the situation.

Cindy,

Quite interesting. I have found that most, though not all, situations that I worry about turn out much better than I thought they would.

Thanks for sharing the outcome.
