fond farewell

It seems that the wee one accidentally left our garden gate open, so the wild things munched the tops off our unique crop. Since they were starting to rot, we harvested what was left. Oddly enough, not even the wildlife seemed interested in the roots.

So here, submitted for your final approval, are the last of our curious carrots.

I don't even know what to say! I can't stop laughing...they look like something out of my childhood nightmares! (Yes, I used to be afraid of root vegetables...don't ask...)

Found this link to help you avoid future deformities.

ha! It seems from that website that we had all but one of the potential carrot troubles going on at the same time! I don't think we'll do that again. We're going to give the squash and beans more room next summer!

Did you know, when you bought the house, it was on the site of an ancient Indian burial ground?

Don't EVER dig a pool.

Jim,
nope. our neighbor has found a number of pottery pieces around, but nothing sinister.

if it is, and this is the worst that happens, I can live with that :-)

maybe they just had thing about carrots ;-)

erin-
I doubt that will be up for consideration any time soon- though for other reasons!

They look like characters in some bizarre animation ... especially all together in that last pic.

maybe i should have tied them up with strings and video taped them dancing before we threw them out to the deer!

DEFINITELY vulgar. I will refrain from saying the first thing that came to mind.
